Everyone knows the cowslip once so common in our meadows.

Given the chance cowslips will happily naturalize in your lawn if you leave the seed-heads to mature, providing you with a good excuse not to mow for a while in the spring and doing a bit towards conserving this lovely wildflower.

A traditional country wine is made from the flowers, and they are great in a spring salad. The bees will make excellent use of them even if you just enjoy their beauty.
