No you are not growing one of these unless you have a serious amount of room and an eye to the future though the Holly or Holm oak, (not stricktly a native) makes a good hedge or windbrake. Slow growing but in time a large long lived tree that is home to so many of our bugs and beetles, and if you don't mind soaking and roasting them you can make use of the acorns, or give them to your pigs of course.

Also found in many a country hedge.
