Hardier than it looks, naples garlic
is a delicate member of the onion tribe from around the Mediterranean area.
Naples garlic
is also known as the daffodil garlic though we are not sure why, but it is a lovely addition to any garden and the small white flowers are a delight in spring salads.
It will pop up anywhere but thrives with full sun in a well drained soil. Only available for a short period in the late spring/early summer before they disappear from view, but even if neglected they will be there again the next spring to delight anew, and will slowly self-seed if you don't eat all the flowers...
