Having acquired a few for planting out in our own woodland garden there are a fewplum yewsleft over which we are pleased to offer for sale.
Like our native yew, plum yews
are hardy, and succeed in most soils. We do not know much about these plants yet, but they are useful for woodland understorey plantings, preferring as they do dappled shade.
Plum yews produce largish plum like fruits with a resinous flavour but you do need a male and female. If our plants settle in we may be able to offer known sexed plants in a few years time. For the moment we have a few seedlings of:
Chinese plum yew(Cephalotaxus fortunei) which can slowly get to 6 m.
