We are very lucky to have stock ofthis lovely plant so beloved of the bees!
Manuka is a shrubby plant from down under, and being a native of New Zealand and Australia it is more used to warmer climes, although it is said to be frost tender ours survived last winter in spite of the frost with no problems.
It is an evergreen shrub which can get quite to 3 m and would make a very good hedge, preferring a sunny spot and moist soil it's otherwise not fussy. The white flowers appear from May - July which any local bees will be happy about, and the leaves are said to make an excellent tea.
