Dog roses make an excellent addition to the wildlife garden.
A vigorous native, the dog rose
is found in many a country hedgerow.
With arching stems they can get up to 3 m if you don't cut them back, but they will be covered in the familiar pale pink single roses followed by numerous small hips for your wines and syrups.
