Eglantine is very much at home in our native hedgerows.
A vigorous, spiny, arching rose, eglantine
has lovely apple-scented foliage and grows up to 2 m. It has bright pink, single flowers darker than the Dog Rose, and good sized, smooth hips much loved by the birds and small mammals (and people).
It is a must for any wildlife garden.
