A handsome and vigorous member of the cabbage/mustard family, Turkish rocket is a useful addition to any perennial vegetable garden...

Turkish rocket  is such an easy to grow plant you must try and squeeze it in somewhere. It prefers full sun but will do perfectly well in the dappled shade of your forest garden edge or any awkward corner, in pretty much any soil though a bit of organic matter will only increase the profusion of leaves. These are available most of the year, only dying down through the heat of the summer after flowering for a while, and in the depths of winter. Watch out for the slugs in the early spring otherwise they are mostly trouble free

The young leaves are the best to make use of taken from the centre of the plant, raw or cooked, and the stems and flower buds are also made use of in the same way a a sprouting broccoli.
